Become a client

How can I become a client and how long will it take?


The account opening process is done online, and usually takes about 10-15 minutes. After you fill out the forms, it will take us up to 48 hours to approve the account.




Is there a minimum deposit to open an account?


The first Deposit must be over 3,000$, unless a small amount was approved by one of our customer service agents. All other deposit are not limited to any amount.




Does Mexem provide a demo-account?


Yes. Mexem provides a free demo account to all clients in order to allow you to test different tools and strategies using our system




From which accounts can I transfer funds to my Mexem account?


You can fund your Mexem account from every Bank account that is held in your name including brokerage accounts.




Can a business or legal entity also become a client?


Yes, Providing that you have a bank account under the business name. The process of opening a business account is very similar to the individual client’s one, the main difference is in the documents that we require in order to approve the account.




Can I open an account if I am younger than 21?


Yes, we do allow people between the ages of 18-21 to open a CASH account due to the fact that they are considered minors in the US. Cash accounts cannot perform margin trading.




I am part of a licensed financial institution. Can I open an account with Mexem to manage client’s assets?


Yes, we have a few ways to allow our clients to manage an account for more than one person. Not only you can open an institutional account, you may also open an account to manage funds for your family and friends (They will have to open an individual account in order to allow you to manage their accounts).





Funding

How are foreign currency transactions handled at Mexem?


While opening the account. you may choose the base currency for your account, All values in the account will be displayed in that currency and all commissions for currency conversion will be taken from that currency cash. Apart from the, currencies are always displayed as individual rows, meaning you can see a cash balance for each currency you hold in your account.




What are the currency conversion rates at Mexem?


Mexem does not take any spread on your currency conversion, meaning that the price that you see in our systems is the spot price without any hidden fees.

How do I log in to my account?


Please go to the Mexem website “mexem.com” and click Login in the top right-hand corner of the page. Then simply enter the username and password you chose during the account opening process.




I have forgotten my username


If you have forgotten your user name it can be found in the original welcome e-mail from Mexem. Alternatively, please contact our customer service department.




I have forgotten my password


For security reasons, we do not send out passwords via email. In order to reset your password, please contact our customer service.




Is it possible to use a Two-step Verification?


Yes. We offer the use of Two-step verification via the IBKR app.

How can I change my personal information?


To change your personal information, you must log in to the Account Managment and follow these steps: Settings > User\account information. (depending on the information you wish to change)




Is it possible to open multiple accounts with the same details?


Yes, you may duplicate you account in order to create a new account using the same username and password. If you are interested in duplicating your account, please contact our customer service department at




Where can I download a statement of my account?


To view the different types of statements and download a personal statement for a period of your choice, please log in to Account Management and follow these steps: Reports > Statements > Choose the information you want to be included in the statement.





Orders

Can I place different order types?


Yes. You can place many different order types with Mexem. For a full list of current order types, please refer to “Information” > “Order Types” on our website.




What is the Order Duration?


When placing an order, you select whether you want the duration to be a Day Order or GTC. A Day Order will stay open until it is executed during the trading day or until the relevant market closes. In case the order has not been executed by the end of the trading day, the order will be automatically deleted. A GTC (Good-till-Cancel) order on the other hand, will roll over into the next trading day if the order has not been executed at the end of the trading day. However, there is no guarantee that the Order is not cancelled due to other causes such as a corporate action of the underlying company. For this reason you should monitor the status of your open Orders.




How do I place a short sell order?


To open a short position, you simply place a sell order on a product in which you do not currently hold a long position.




Do Mexem allow to trade option strategies?


Yes. you can use the “Option Trader” tool in classic or mosaic layout to build and trade different types of option strategies.




Can I place an order by telephone?


Yes, It is possible to call our trade desk and place an order. Please make sure you have your account number and an available way to verify you as the account owner (Mobile phone or email)




Can I trade during Pre-Market or After-Hours trading sessions?


Yes, LMT and STP-LMT orders are available for use in Pre-Market and after hours trading. Please make sure to check the box for “Fill Outside RTH” while creating your order.




My order has been executed but why is it showing in multiple parts?


Sometimes in order to get the best execution, your order may be split and filled in multiple parts. In this case, you may see that your order is divided into multiple fills. The commision for split trades is the same for a single trade ( Unless the order was changed in the process)
